I have a Lionel Susquehanna Dash 8-40B, Item Number 6-18211. These units were advertised as having a LionTec digital ready reverse unit circuit in it. The features of this unit were that it started in forward after the unit was off for a few seconds. This would allow multiple unit lashups. The ads also mentioned the circuits were upgradable. My question is what did "upgradable" mean? Was there some other circuit that came out later that could be added to make the unit TMCC compatible?

Thanks for the replies. gunrunnerjohn is correct the upgrade kit will not work with my engine. After reading the info in the first link bmoram4 provided, I fount the following info:

"This upgrade kit is designed for use only on locomotives that are designated “Command Ready” in catalogs since 1998; other locomotives, including those previously designated “Digital Ready”, will require additional electronic modifications."

My engine indicates it is "Digital Ready" which means this upgrade kit will not work. The question is what "additional electronic modifications" are necessary?
