Greetings all!

I recently came across an article in "the other magazine" about the lionel D62. For some time now i have wanted to recreate a lionel display, and from the limited information in the article, I think this might be the one. I'm wondering if anyone might have a picture of this display, or a track plan? I am particularly interested in the broadside that lionel issued in 1952 to advertise its new displays. As i understand, the display that lionel delivered to its customers for the holiday season was actually quite different from the one that was advertised. I have seen a small, unclear image of the display as advertised, and it seems to be, in my opinion, more interesting from an operational standpoint than what I understand to be the display as delivered. This display also holds a place in lionel display history as being one of the first of the large displays that lionel has become famous for from their later years. Any helped to be offered is appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Well, here is a rendition of what was most likely delivered, although the parts list varies from the photo. I needed one more switch than shown in the list and only 53OS, cutting some them and some half straights, which they didn't have in 1952.

have to find someone with that broadside(an advertising technique of the time) to compare the two.

The track plan is very close. If you notice where the 4' mark is on the grid, only one straight would have to cut on the r-loop to separate the 4 x 8's for shipping.
