My George Bush funeral train set came in yesterday from Legacy Station and I am very happy with it. Lionel really went this extra mile with this set to make it special. The locomotive plays Hail to the Chief (see video). All cars have figures dressed in black, which I thought was a nice touch. The station sounds diner plays the national anthem, Stars and Stripes Forever, and America the Beautiful as well as several recordings talking about 41's life. The casket and honor guard were really well done. My only complaint with the set is Lionel put 4 wheel trucks on the observation car instead of the correct 6 wheel trucks. All in all, this set was well worth the wait, and offered st a really good price when you consider what all comes with it.

I've also purchased the 9096 and a few of the passenger car two packs to make a pretty accurate and complete train. Lionel hasn't made the correct power car yet so I don't have one, I bought a second Walter Dean which will be re-lettered as City of San Francisco, and they haven't done the Portola sleeper so I'll try to modify the extra  City of Denver dining car. 20200726_00062820200725_14250920200725_13352220200725_13352720200725_13353220200725_13355520200726_000548

I have the MTH version but trying to decide if it's work selling and picking up the Lionel set instead. Does anyone have both Lionel and MTH sets or have they seem them side by side??? Seems like I would prefer the lionel set over all but don't want to pull the trigger just yet until I get some feedback

The biggest factor in answering that question would likely be how you think 21" cars would look on your curves. If you think they'd look good on your curves, I'd say go for it personally.
