Matt,
I wish you good luck trying to find one of these JLC BB beasts. Great looking locomotive with plenty of applied details, etc. It took me almost 2 years to locate one in good condition at a price I could afford. And I hope you have a layout with generous track radius to run it on or it will wind up being a 'shelf queen' almost overnight. Excessive boiler overhang on the front end of this engine looks 'goofy' especially on tighter track radii.
I have the uncataloged 4012,barely used, runs great, smokes good, and is huge,it's a little bigger than I thought, and has not been out of box in two years, how much you looking to spend,I might be willing to let her go.....
PLEASE CHECK YOUR E MAIL
Hi,
is this Big Boy suitable for 2-rail? I think isn't. Does Lionel never produce Big Boys for 2-rail?
Riccardo
THIS IS THE 6-11104 BB IT IS 3 RAIL FOR 1295.00 NEW IN BOX I DO NOT THINK IT CAN BE SET UP FOR 2 RAIL I MAY BE WRONG
Any of the Lionel Big Boy's are definitely 3-rail engines. However they can be converted to 2-rail but it isn't going to be a cheap undertaking. My guess is somewhere around $600 +/-. KTM / Westside and Max Gray (US Hobbies) did make the Big Boy in 2-rail brass many years ago and they go for somewhere around $1300 to $2000 depending on condition, etc. So either way its going to cost around the same amount of money for a 2-rail Big Boy.
