A little while back there was a thread on replacement diaphragms for K Line passenger cars and a kind gentleman gave me a Lionel Part Number. I received the parts and installed them in the K Line cars and they are so stiff it is difficult to couple the cars and the derail on curves. Anybody have any suggestions on how ro soften the diaphragms or shorting them?

Rick,  If you have K-Line heavyweight cars, you could insert the diaphragm one more fold.  If they are K-Line replacement diaphragms you may shorten them by slicing one of the folds from it.  That may help.  Softening the entire piece may be accomplished by putting one in boiling water for 30-45 seconds, remove and let dry.  Repeat as desired.  John
