Hi everyone, today as I was running my new Lionel legacy mikado, the smoke unit stopped working, and I got the dreaded 3 cab light blinks signal. I tried several times to reset it, but to no avail. I have tried turning off the smoke unit and turning it back on, shutting down the engine, starting it back up, adding smoke fluid, because it had very little in it, I believe I might have damaged the heating element. However, when I try to reset it, it sounds like the smoke unit tries to run, but just dies. I really dont want to have to shell out some cash to send it to Lionel, so I want to know if there is any possible way that I can fix it myself. Thank you all so much for the help, I would really appreciate it a lot.

You could try to see if you get manually get the motor to spin by rotating the impeller prior to applying power and then let the motor spin for about 10 minutes. I have had this work for some of my units. Seems that sometimes that the motors do not get quite enough voltage to spin up at starting causing the stall.
