I've scanned this entire "Topic" looking for the suggestion that these cars be produced in CNJ colors.  Other than Reading and the roads to which they were distributed, the CNJ was the only company that owned and operated them.  It seems funny that a tourist line, albeit a RDG spinoff, should trump The Big Little Railroad.

I just became aware that these "Reading" cars are the actual arched roof type and are quite accurately scaled.  I missed the whole thing thanks to Lionel's photos, as reproduced in their online catalogs; all black roofs look the same to these old eyes unless I blow them waaay up.  They look to be wonderful cars and I'm now scouring the web for them with little success.  Buying the entire fleet with tax time looming is not an option.

If I've missed the CNJ suggestion by others, I apologize in advance for my negligence.

Henning's Trains still has at least one NH & Ivyland set...

John,

Thank you!  You're on top of things, as always.  However, after my latest experience with a Legacy GP30, now being studied by the nice folks at Lionel, I'm loathe to go for that set.  I spent many hours at the NH&I and knew the McHugh Bros. quite well.  They were quite helpful to us.  However, that is a competitor, no matter how remote, to my Mighty MIDH.

I may have found a source for some RDG cars which would satisfy my yen, for the moment. My hope (New Hope) is for a CNJ set with, dare I say it, a control cab car...

Following JohnB’s approach above, I ordered 2 sets of Lionel’s seated passengers. They arrived yesterday and I proceeded to try to install them. I removed the 4 body screws as shown on Dave Olson’s diagram that JohnB shows but nothing budges and I don’t want to break these beautiful (and delicate looking) passenger cars.

Any suggestions? I have 48 people waiting to be seated LOL!
