Hopefully they will make it well known if do extend the sale.
The site is back up.
But not giving the 50% discount as of 1:40 pm MST
I didn't check if the sale was still on.
Someone form Lionel please speak up. Have you extended the sale ? I have around $600 in my cart but will not check out till I know if the sale is extended. j
I would suggest a call, but it's past their hours.
I placed an order, technically 2 orders, around 1:00 AM (yes AM) Sunday morning. I had repeated problems with an order over $100.00 . So, I split it into two orders. Both orders indicated they were accepted. The single, over $100.00, order allowed me to input address info. I clicked Next (or continue or whatever) and got taken back to the intro parts screen with nothing in my cart. As long as Lionel has been doing this and at least the last 5 years (approximately the number of years I’ve ordered stuff) I don’t understand why they can’t make this run smoother. It seems something flakey happens every year. I was in the computer biz for 40 plus years and rarely put stuff out that didn’t work. Further, a lot of that was in banking and customers get REAL cranky when they can’t get their money.

I think the issue is simply that Lionel is unwilling to fund a parts ordering system that only gets peak traffic once a year. Having the capacity to deal with the crush of traffic that only happens once a year sit idle for the rest of the year is probably fairly expensive. It's the same issue that shipping companies face every Christmas season when suddenly there are mountains of shipments.
@Sean's Train Depot posted:I have notice that there are fewer and fewer parts for newer engines, sometime none at all. Is Lionel not stocking parts anymore like they used to? I have a Legacy engine from 2019 Catalog (NYC Hudson), yet is only show like 3 parts for it, just receiver and Bluetooth boards, no actual engine parts or smoke unit parts, especially in this model with the tender feature. I have the last Reading T-1 and that does not any parts.
Is is just older parts?
Attempted to order parts for a 2019 engine. There are no parts breakdown available to order parts on any model of that engine even produced up to today. Called and was told they couldn't help as they have no breakdowns available. Didn't order anything.
The newer stuff hasn't shown up in the parts breakdowns, I hope that gets sorted out soon. It makes it difficult to impossible to repair them if you can't even identify the part you want to order.

I've been waiting two years for my J3a list to show up with no luck, so don't hold your breath.

Just got an email this morning that they are NOT going to extend the sale.
disappointing.
I sort of figured that, oh well , I did get my major list in, now to wait for delivery and see what they actually had in stock to ship.

Didn’t get any in, with a 6 week old, I was only able to set aside an hour Sunday night. Thanks Lionel.
That is a challenge, newborns are almost 24/7 work. So glad mine are 38 and 36 now and THEY have the kids.
@zhubl posted:Just got off the phone with Aaron he said they are working on seeing what happened to the system and once it’s back up and operational they plan to extend the sale. Glad I wasn’t the only one 😅
I hope so, cuz Heather doesn't seem to agree - this email was sent to me via Talk to US today at 10:54am;
Good morning,
Unfortunately, we are not able to extend the parts sale at this time.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Thank-You,
Heather
Maybe Aaron can change her mind

I left a note with my order to cancel the order if they cannot extend the sale discount and they did cancel my order. I spent hours searching part numbers to get that order together and am Pxxxed j

Things may have changed from the time I talked with Aaron Monday. I really hope not like most those last few hours Sunday night were my only free time and feel pretty left out over a site crash issue
My order shipped. I placed it Friday morning before work. I feel for the guys that got blocked Sunday evening. I hope Lionel makes it right.
Spoke with LIONEL earlier today to check on my order--it's fine; parts should ship tomorrow.
But I asked about extending the sale and was given a firm "NO." Disappointing to say the least. Like others, for months I kept a running parts list for projects which grew to $400+ after the discount and I'd be furious if it wasn't honored because of LIONEL's computer problem.

Sure am.
I even have screenshots of my order in my cart time stamped and the error screen as well.
