I replaced the brittle 3-wire flat cable on my 97 coal loader switch.  During this repair, the rubber spacer between the three switch wafers fell out.  I found the spacer, but I'm not sure where it goes.  Looking at the switch from the bottom with the cover removed, there are four possibilities: between the bottom and middle wafers right (1), left (2), or between the middle and top wafer right (3) or left (4).

I think the correct location is left between the bottom and middle wafer. In this position, the knob activates the bucket chain and the button activates the trap door.  The knob controlling the chain also activates the trap door, but if I recall correctly it shouldn't.  I have cleanly soldered that new wire to the wafers.   Thanks in advance for any feedback.

If you kept your stack of tabs in the same order, that spacer top and bottom "knobs" fit into the round holes of the tabs in the stack.  If that info doesn't help I can open mine and send a photo later.
