Houston!!!  We have a problem...  er...  melt down...  oops!  While running my bump-n-go trolley today, the black cap popped off the bumper, the spring popped out and we had a fire   The spring is now severely deformed and the cap has a melted edge.  No worries, I got to the transformer in time to turn it off, and the trolley is fine.  But...  the question here is can one find replacements for these parts.  The cap can be used if push comes to shove, but the spring, last rites I'm afraid.

Thanks.

You must have found a some that I missed. Plus the average shipping $6.50+

Recently sold listings on the Bay:

$4.40

$4.99

$4.99

$3.25

2 for $9.50

4 for $16.50

2 for $9.95

12 for $62

Most of these had original boxes and occasionally paperwork.

Shipping ran between $3.00 and $8.00 on these listings ($13 for the 12 bumpers)

At the Greenburg show in Edison this spring I bought 6 of them for $30, 4 of which were boxed and had paperwork.

I agree with all that you say Andrew B.  These days, if a 260 is >= $10 at a show, I just keep moving because there's no point in even bargaining.  3 for $10-15 is the new set point.

I took all my less than perfect postwar 260 end bumpers and replaced them with Modern era 2282 or 2283 bumpers. I think they look just as nice, in fact I think I like the colors better. And they are very inexpensive. They came in boxes of two. I paid less than $20 per box for new ones. I see a wide range of prices for them on EBay.
