Is there a type of electrical switch or switches that I can gang together to make a 21st Century Controller that would mimic the controller. I took the controller apart and its now in many more pieces than i thought. If so, please provide the details. I would love to build one.

A single Momentary Center Off DPDT switch would be appropriate.

ami punching this at Home Depot or.....? I was hoping that I could run a 4wire cable terminating at the track and then the 4 wire spades going not this DPDT SWITCH. Is this solution a bit more complicated than that. I understand that I can get Transformer power in lieu of terminal #3 if I desire.
Here is the diagram to use the DPDT center off (On)-Off-(on) momentary switch with the 6019. The RCS and UCS are wired similarly.
Sorry I meant terminal 4 for power. Assuming terminal #1 is on the left . Going 1-2-3-4 to the right as you look at the track.
The different 1019/6019/RCS/UCS tracks have different wire orders where terminals 3 and 4 are switched, so your memory wasn't necessarily wrong.

so-- can I purchase this DPDT switch at a HOME Depot or Lowes or Menards, or do I have to go to a speciality place like Graingers or electrical supply house.

It's just a type of switch, and home centers won't have it. All Electronics has them, they come in many styles. Check Amazon & eBay as well.
