As stated in other threads, I want to add sound to a pair of F7 diesels (Part of 6-34511) I'm going to use the powered motherboard but have concern that I won't be able to use the quilling horn feature in tandem with the powered unit that has the legacy sound package. Also, does anyone do installs on this? I'd like to do this myself but would feel better if I had someone else do one unit so I had something to look at.

Do you already have the RS 5.5 sound board? It shows up as unavailable on Lionel's parts site.

Nope, but I emailed Lionel about it, waiting for a response. If I can't get it, I'll use the board from 6-34513.
Your powered A unit has a quilling horn. Are you just trying to add sound to the other A unit. If so, WHY? The quilling horn is present in the powered unit. Please give more details.

Yes, I'm trying to add sound to the other A unit and also the B unit from this set. Why? Because I want to have three prime mover sounds going and have a big horn sound.
John, you know a guy who is stocked with those for the future.
Matt, the RS 5.5 board is a good one and if you go through all the work and expense you will not notice much difference. Some of those parts are cheap and some are not. I have bad hearing and the Lionel modular board Legacy is very loud to me.
I like the multiple prime mover sounds, that's pretty cool at times.

Not at present, I'm in the middle of a move, so I'm not taking on new work right now.

I forgot. After your move, could I send you the B unit from the set and the powered MB, sound card and speaker and you install it and just charge me labor? Also, would this board give me the quilling horn feature?
I won't be doing any new work before the spring York, lots of stuff to accomplish before then.
