For those of you that saw just how easy it is to install Kadee couplers on the Lionel Steel Reefers and Atlas cars with inline mounting lugs, it is just as easy in install them on the Lionel PS-1 and Round Top boxcars (same under frames)...
Although I didn't take video of it, its the same install. You do have to be a little more careful because there's no end sill to slide the shim up against, but I've designed these to do double duty.
With the shims used for the Lionel PS-1 and round top boxcars, if you install them even with the end of the car with the holes facing the center of the car, the coupler box is mounted even with the end sill. If you do the same, and face the holes towards the ends of the cars (outside), then the coupler box extends out from the end sill, simulating cushioned draft gear! You can literally mount them whichever way you'd like!
