Lionel Scale Berkshire and Fastrack o-48 | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I am designing my layout and I will be using O-72 and O-60 Fastrack on my mainline but I want to use some O-48 switches and curves on a reverse loop.

Does anyone have a Lionel Scale Berk and tried to put it through Fastrack O-48 switches and curves? Lionel states its minium curve is O-54.

Yes! I use FasTrack and have a scale Lionel Pere Marquette 1225. I have an O-72 loop and an O-60 loop. My layout has a large siding that uses 1/4 circle of O-48 curves at each end. The Berk goes through them just fine. If you try to go fast, there will be a slight rubbing noise, which is why the suggest O-54. My last setup had a 1/2 circle of O-48 with one O-48 switch...the Berk ran through with no problems.

Just be careful...if you have a wall to the left of the layout, the Berk's cab roof will swing out past the molded roadbed of the O-48 FasTrack.
