Wondering what happened to the Vermont Central Milk Car (6-29982) that was cataloged in 2016 and not produced back then and is now not cataloged in the new 2020 catalog ?

Maybe licensing issue?
Unless we hear otherwise, I would assume any of those outstanding Milk cars that had not been officially cancelled will now be produced.
(I have a NYC one from I think a 2015 catalog on order, that I will assume is now in the pipeline to be made with all the new ones)

John, I'll answer that with the title of a 1965 Beatles song, "No Reply", (as of now anyway)
Ryan has said all pass catalog milk cars will be produced

Hope that's correct; I have a few on backorder with the Central Vermont the one I wanted the most.

Watch the Ryan and Dave video, they're all coming...
Given up hope on the New York Central car hope it's soon.
I, too, have some on order from ‘16 in road names that aren’t in the current catalog. They were cataloged with all-metal trucks with hidden tabs and are $20 less MSRP. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

2016 prices were supposed to be honored. I'll ask Ryan when I see him at the Amherst show.

Gary, if you could double check with Ryan while at Amherst about the Central Vermont car, I sure would appreciate it, put my mind at ease. Thank you.

from the Beatles album titled "Beatles for Sale"
When I "pre-ordered" the B&M passenger train and the two car addition from Charles Ro, I asked if they still had my milk cars on back order but I don't expect an answer until the crew returns from the Amherst show and gets their store back to normal. They don't expect the product to ship from Lionel until 3Q20.

Will do, I thought I had that one on pre order as well but I can’t find a receipt.
Talked to Ryan today, there was no room in the catalog to fit all the milk cars that were announced in 2016. All that have been announced including the central VERMONT will be made. Expected early fall delivery

Thanks for following up with Lionel.
If you think about it, it makes perfect sense NOT to re-catalog the previous ones .
Since they seem to be honoring the original pricing structure for the old ones, how would you handle that if you re-cataloged them and took new orders? (you couldn't easily say it would be one price if you had it on order from 5 years ago, but more if you order one today).
Much cleaner to just let the old orders roll in and then catalog new ones to go with them with new road numbers (at the new price point) if more of those particular road names are warranted due to popularity.

I didn’t get a warm fuzzy feeling about honoring the 2016 prices when I ask today. I think it’s more a To be determined. What’s the price difference anyway?
just found it 20 bucks difference

Gary, thank you very much for getting confirmation that the Central Vermont will be produced. At this stage of the game, I'm not concerned about the price increase.

I'm hoping for some 3 rail scale Butter Dish Milk Cars with high speed trucks in Various names.
