Is it producing smoke? What type/brand of fluid?

It may be time for a new heat eliment....( basically a resistor.)

Or the wicking, a fluff to keep fluid from sloshing, and to wick fluid up to the heater is old and charred. (kinda normal).   I don't think that has an off switch for smoke yet but look around the cab, under it etc. (if there is NO smoke)

So, either find a rebuid kit (element, wicking, maybe cap & gasket (between shell & smoke unit.)

Rebuilding a smoke unit is a good little project for most folk to going with.

You may also want to try JT's Megasmoke brand "Eliminator" which is said to clear up any gelling of old fluid (with a lemon scent if I'm not mistaken)
