That was a great layout!  I have seen most of Errol Flynn's action movies, but wasn't aware of this comedy. FWIW, the dvd shows as being available on Amazon if you search for it. [No, I am not getting it.]  Thanks for sharing.

Lionel and the movie "Four's a Crowd"

Yeah, the movie was memorable for its large outdoor train layout, but I can't remember the story line. That movie has been mentioned here before. One eagle-eye observer pointed out that a loco was missing its pilot truck, presumably to reduce derailment problems.

I like the cigar lighter tank car - witty whimsy.

But Great Danes and an outdoor layout? Now there's serious clean-up..............

Wonderful tinplate O action.  Had the movie been made a few year later imagine all the action accessories they could have utilized.  That tank car lighter was a hoot!  Typical prewar lighter tech in a prewar car.

 

How much do you suppose Lionel paid to get that type of exposure?...or did ol' JL wrangle a deal for free?

"One day" it just changed, and the "extra" began showing. Took me some experimenting to figure it out. I think it was added for android, or something.  

 

 

The best part for me was that I have both of the trains used in the race!!

Bet all JL had to do was hire a crew to set the layout up, and run them.

I wonder how much film they had to shoot before they got footage they could use ??  I bet a lot.
