Maybe I was the only one who did not know this but you can convert Lionel trucks to 2R with Intermountain wheelsets. So on this rainy and gloomy Sunday afternoon I converted 3 pairs of Lionel trucks to 2 rail. Now I do not have to rebuild the underframe.

I'm glad it works on the bettendorf trucks.

That sounds odd...shouldn't the Intermountain wheelsets be insulated on one side? The only way I can think of their shorting through the frame would be if the insulated wheelsets wound up on opposite sides of the truck (or something on the truck frame coming in contact with an insulated wheel).
