I don't have any pictures, but I had a chance to see it run and blow the whistle on the new Lionel Y6b at the Lionel booth at York.  You N & W fans who ordered this engine should be, I think, thrilled.  It was very detailed, ran very smoothly, and the sound, wow.  The hooter whistle sounds fantastic, sometimes with a little "squeak" at the end as I've heard from the full size 1218 in videos.  Also, whistle steam shoots skyward, which is a great effect.  I don't model the N & W, but this engine makes me wish I did.

Also, one of the upcoming vision reefers was running on the layout.  Again, great ice loading sounds along with freight train sounds.  For those that are getting them, enjoy.

I only saw the one reefer with sound running on the layout.  It's nicely detailed.  When the car is stationary you can play sounds of a foreman telling his crew what to do while ice loading sounds are heard in the background.  The longer you play it, the more the foreman gets annoyed and tells the crew to "hurry up" and things like that.  It's neat.  When the car is rolling along, you get the usual freight car noises like banging and squealing, which I really like.  Overall, I think they are really well done and those that get them should be pleased.  The Y6b is a home run, no doubt.

Blue Streak,

I believe it was said that the reefers are "on the water" and should be here soon.  I don't know about the Y6b.

Hot Water,

Lionel did say that the exhaust sounds would be correct.  I apologize, I certainly do not know enough about steam engines to accurately talk about simple vs compound, I need to learn more.  Hopefully it will be right.

YES!!!!    Sorry I couldn't break away to get out to York for even a day-tripper this time, but I would have liked to see this jewel in action.  Thanks for the update!!!

BTW, for those asking... Charlie Ro's website has an ETA of 7/10/2015 for the Y6b... which is only 2+ months away.

The sounds will be right this time around.
