A friend of mine finally received his Lionmaster Bigboy  LOTS special.  He is moving out of state in a week and only had a short time to test the unit.  He tested the Bigboy before tearing his layout down and thought the sound was low .He tried to adjust but since there was no manual adjustment ( runs everything in conventional ),  he asked if I could adjust the unit.  I said I could adjust using Bluetooth so I tested the unit tonight. I adjusted to the max and the volume was  lower than my $200 LC+ loco and significantly less than my MTH Proto2 &3 engines. Although I usually run my engines at mid to low volume but on the club layout I adjust to higher setting.

Question for those with Lionmaster Bigboy is this normal? Is the volume louder with TMCC?

I went through all functions and the rear coupler would not fire although sound was there.  I assume a loose  wire or bad connection  On the positive the paint scheme was beautiful.  Bottom line for a $1200 or $1300 loco quite disappointing. A Big boy should be louder than other locos. I have a $200 LC+ and have had no problems.

My LC 2.0 Big Boy is amazing. The sounds rattle my bones. There is a manual volume setting in the tender and you can adjust the volume using the universal remote. My only complaint is the fan driven smoke unit is a little loud when the engine is idle. But I don’t keep it idle for long anyway.

if you can’t adjust it to be louder I’d have your friend contact Lionel.
