Check out Harry Hieke.com banner ad at the top of this page.

When ever  I experienced difficulty selling an engine I simply gave it to Harry for weathering.  Next train show it always sold.  Pure art.

Harry has scores of in service photos of a wide range of locomotives so as to best capture prototypical weathering.

He weathers pallet loads of engines, he must be doing something right..

Tim,

Thank for that picture I remember seeing that. Whats particularly impressive to me is that the weathering has also highlighted the cast in detail that is often lost when you look at a shiny new model. Harry is a master and I am looking at his website as well, but being in the UK using his services would be either impossible or impossibly expensive!!

Sorry Arthur, My bad.   I did not express myself properly.

Harry has scores of in service photos he uses to help him to most accurately capture the actual type and level of weathering certain engines have on their various routes of travel from years past.  These are in house reference photos he uses for his artwork.

I remember when I first started using Harry he would show me the various photos and I would choose the effect I desired.  Great customer service!  Hope this helps.
