I am repainting some MTH Rail King 13" cars in the LIRR's Tichy paint scheme of the early 1950s. My memory of these cars is a bit sketchy, so I need some help regarding the roof color, and the window trim color.
I recall seeing white and silver roofs. Which is correct?
The trim around the windows I recall was white or bare aluminum. Which is correct?

I'm no Long Island expert, but judging by photos found on Google Images (that I won't post here), it seems to me to be white for the most part. Perhaps someone else who is more knowledgeable about LIRR can confirm this. Hope I can be of assistance.

Where are the LIRR experts when you need them?
After digging around the internet, the Tichy colors on the LIRR commuter cars (MP54 etc.) were aluminum color roof, Slate Gray body, aluminum window frames, white lettering and a dark green underbody. The Tichy scheme evolved to include orange car ends.
