Looking for info for a Lionel GP from set

This engine (the set was cataloged in Vol. 2, 2003) is one of the few traditional-style Lionel Geeps from the later era of TMCC traditional Geeps that Lionel did (beginning in 1996) that is equipped with dual can motors with flywheels. Lionel only made about four different ones of these or so. Besides the C&O from this set, one was a Great Northern, and I don't recall the others - maybe a Rock Island among them. However, none of these engines were equipped with TMCC. Lionel may not have had TMCC for DC motors developed at that time. It is a Chinese-made engine, one Lionel's early Chinese-production engines.

I bought the set a number of years ago for the cars (the set has some great cars) as well as this engine. I sold the engine shell, but still have the chassis, which is in line for an ERR cruise commander conversion. I plan to put a Lionel Milwaukee Road shell on it after the conversion. 

Another interesting thing about the set, and another reason I picked it up, is the Great Northern stock car that comes with it. This in fact is one of the Lionel scale stock cars with all the add-on metal details, cattle figures for the interior, etc. A very nice and rare car. It was odd that Lionel put this scale car in a traditional set. Curiously, the box label for the car says C&O stock car (!). It would be interesting to know how it came to be that Lionel put a scale Great Northern stock car in a traditional Chesapeake & Ohio set. Might have been a production mixup there someplace.

Yeah, I bought that stock car separately at some point myself.  Nice car, definitely an odd label.
