Looking TIU Repair and RevisionOpinion

Did you price a new TIU? I think you might be able to get one for about another $100 or so above your repair costs and shipping charges. Could be less depending on shipping charges for repair of your old one?

Before you give up on the Rev. G (1st generation) TIU, try reloading DCS 6.0.

If the mis-numbering error is software-correctable, the TIU software reload should do it. MTH added a process to the Loader Program some time ago to look at a TIU's ID# during a software update and, if it was outside the range of 1 to 5, to reset it to 1.

It only takes a couple of minutes and is worth a try.

I tried this two times. One on different computers with fresh files from the MTH website. Thanks for the suggestion though.

This was my thinking so I was trying to figure out what's so great about the different revisions and if L is superior enough where one would justify dropping leas than $200 on a new TIU.

Absolutely!

I would follow Barry's advice. I know the DCS signal is better in a Rev L, but he knows a lot more about all the different versions than I do.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and opinions. I'll try convince our guy for the rev L, but we'll see because it's a non-profit museum so I'm not sure how high on the priority list this one will be.

Thanks Barry, I forgot those were in there. I have both in digital and print. Just need to study them more, the old brain doesn't retain things like it used to, think I am running out of memory and need an upgrade!
