We are seeing a HUGE increase in folks posting copyrighted photos on our forum and generally not following our terms of service regarding our policies and procedures on a variety of topics. We are VERY concerned about copyright since we were taken to court over a "problem" we had on this forum. You can read about it in the featured topics. Generally we have a no strike rule and so we have had to recently disable several member's accounts due to them posting copyrighted pictures. I want to remind you that it does not matter if you are a supporting member, subscriber, or sponsor, we will likely not only delete your photos but suspend your posting privileges. We do not enjoy paying $5,000 to $10,000 per picture for copyright infringement and if that happens, we will seek legal avenues of reimbursement. Guys and Gals, I am not trying to be nasty and rude about this but it is serious and could affect OGR and you in a VERY negative way. READ our copyright rules in the TOS at the top of the page. Not knowing the copyright law is no excuse believe me!
Another reminder is for those of you searching for something. You know, those posts that say: "where can I find this or that?" "who has what I am looking for?" "where can I buy this?" ETC.... These are all versions of "want to buy" and should be posted in the want to buy forum. I have instructed the mods to stop moving these posts and just delete those that are not in the want to buy.
Finally, a lot of ebay links are showing up. Our TOS do not allow ebay links. Do not post a link to ebay. You can refer to ebay if there is something there that you want others to see but no link is allowed. Folks can go there on their own and do a search.
Repeated breaking of TOS will result in a disabled account. OK...I said what I needed to say for now...I hate these kinds of "reminders" and hope you understand why I need to do this every once in a while.
