lousy station announcements on R17

The early subways were limited in memory size on the boards for sound files.  All of the subways have abbreviated routes to about six stops.  Just make believe it ran super express that day

Yeah they should have called it a 6 express. I have heard YouTube videos of MTh Subway trains with the correct announcements for the 6 train. Does anyone know any MTH part numbers of these, maybe R17 or R2142 sets?

Actually they all have 9 stops. (Except for the R12 red bird set which has 12) If your not getting all 9 factory reset the powered car in conventional mode. I have the R21's and the graffiti R17's which came out at the same time as the Redbirds R17's. List of my R17 graffiti 5 train stops.

Dyer ave, Baychester ave, Freeman st, Jackson ave, 149th street grand concourse, 59th street, 14th street union square, bowling green, & south ferry.

Not sure about part numbers. The sound files are all available for downloading on the mth sight. If you have the R17 canary Redbirds that sound set is mostly local stops. The R26 greedbird subway sound set has more of the interesting stops like castle hill ave, union square, grand central & Astor place. You should be able to "swap" the sound files if you have a full DCS set up

I have a MTH trolley that is supposed to be Lehigh Valley trolley unfortunately is gives you stops in Pittsburgh. I am going to sell it someday saying it is an extremely rare item. Stating price will be a gizzilian bucks.
