Cleaning up an older MTH BL2 code 2129LP. What is the LP designation? With what this has I expected a -0.

This was early MTH BEFORE the number system you are referring to (XX-XXXXX-X).
That's your first clue- you are looking at very, very, very early MTH- likely DCRU or PS1, maybe even QSI before PS1.

MTH often in their own website then after the new number system, may list them with the format you expect.
If you do a search then only use the number

You would also note they start out with "MT" as part of that early system, or RK- for Railking.
Ah I see. I am cleaning this up for a friend. I was trying to determine if there is a smoke unit in there as there is a switch (unmarked) on the bottom. There is no "call out" on the box for smoke though. I'm really not sure what that switch might be. Direction lock out?
Did the LP stand for anything back then or just miscellaneous letters.
If it has electrocouplers I believe there is a switch on the underside to choose whether the front or rear coupler is fired.
Sounds like the PS-1 version. So xxxx-1 replaces LP. G
