Received a e-mail today from Menards. It was advertising their new M. and M. caboose. I thought the caboose looked very nice.

thanks for the heads up...just ordered
You are welcome Don. I suggest you sign up for their e-mails. Doesn't cost anything. They may make something else you would like to have.
Guaranteed to be sold out soon Something about MM cars that we love!
Just ordered my M&M caboose. Now that Menards has this caboose and so many M&M boxcars and hoppers, I have to believe that when Menards finally starts selling engines we will see an M&M engine.
I have all of the Menards M&M rolling stock, and I am planning a special display shelf for them......I think I will include space for some additional rolling stock and an engine.
I also have many MTH M&M boxcars and hoppers and the M&M EP-5 engine. If I include the MTH items, it looks like I'm going to need several shelves.
Mark, can you help troubleshoot this email problem some of us are having? For some reason, I have stopped receiving train-related emails from Menards, including this caboose announcement, but I’m getting the other Menards emails marketing special offerings. I doublechecked to make sure I was still signed up. I am.
Mark, same here, get other Menards emails, but not train items.

I'm told this is an issue with Yahoo and AOL email services. It's a bigger problem than just train emails.
Do either of you have a secondary email you could use to sign up for train emails? That might be your best bet.
I'm hoping people smarter than me can figure this out.
Thank you,
Mark the Menards Train Guy

Of course. I had a similar problem with my OGR Forum emails before I switched to Gmail. Looks like I’ll be moving more stuff to that account.
Website currently says only 50 remaining!!! Don’t hesitate if you want one!
I’m glad I ordered it because it was sold out by Thursday afternoon. Well it arrived a few hours ago. My Menards candy train is up to date. 😁 Here’s some photos and a video.

how's the quality?

Everything went great. Handled my 022 switches perfectly along with my 042 curves. Great details for the price too.
Got mine today also. Beautifully done, colorful, crisp lettering and graphics. The blinking tail lights are great. It is really a superb value.
Now some very minor Debbie Downer comments....
I received a prototype of this caboose from Menards in 2017, albeit with Santa Fe markings. Even with 2 pickup rollers, there was a good amount of illumination flickering. It would have been easy and cheap just to add an electrolytic capacitor to solve the problem. That was not corrected in the 2023 version. While the caboose's small size and light weight fits it into the toy category and ostensibly be great for child's play, the wire pairs to the trucks are a bit short. As the trucks are rotated to extreme positions (typically off-track by kids like myself), the wires tighten. After 6 years, three of the four wires have broken (but the car still illuminates on the one surviving pickup wire!). The 2023 version still has the short wires.
That all said, the price is right! It looks great at the tail end of all my other candy-themed consist, especially with the flashing red lights. The caboose gets a 95 on Dick Clark's rating scale.
What kind of loco you thinking? Im also considering something to pull...

I'm thinking of looking for a Postwar locomotive. Perhaps a 2018 or one of the better scout locomotives to restore and paint up and make some custom decals. I know there is a MTH M&M locomotive but a bit much for my budget.

Mark, I have neither of those services and it seems to happen to me every year. I stop getting "train stuff" e-mails and start getting lawn/garden product e-mails (which I have no interest in as I am nowhere near one of your stores).
