Hello all! It's maintenance time on my pike, something that's honestly been long overdue. It's been prompted by my old Docksider, the NYC X-8688, which has started to make a grinding\binding noise when run in reverse... hopefully she just needs a touch of oil, as she's probably long overdue for some lubrication at this point in her life. Any thoughts on what could be the matter there? Also, remind me again what oil was the recommended lubricant for our locomotives? I have some K-Line units that could use a spot of oil too.

I'm also considering finally ordering another coupler for my Docksider, because the ones she came with died of zinc pest years ago, I only ever got one replaced before the second one self destructed at which point I rather called the endeavor quits. Also, is there any way to replace the brass whistle she comes with? I think that little detail got a slight chip in it eons ago, from what cause I don't recall, and I kick myself every day because I know that I had the missing piece and threw it out because I didn't recognize it. D'oh!
