"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

December will be his last issue as editor, and Garden Railways will henceforth become a quarterly instead of a bimonthly. Kent Johnson will assume editorship of the magazine. No further details are known outside of Kalmbach at this time, but it should be noted that Bob Keller was recently let go at CTT. Obviously, some corporate/editorial restructuring is in the works.

This is especially poignant news as Marc and his wife founded this magazine years before it became a Kalmbach publication. I met Marc on two occasions at the Diamondhead, MS Steamups in 1996 and 1997, and he was a very knowledgable and affable chap. His editorials and product reviews in GR are legendary, and he will certainly be missed!

As a long-time garden railroad enthusiast, hobbyist, and book author, I can only say that this is not good news for the Large Scale/garden railroading community. Marc was most certainly instrumental in making Garden Railways the success that it was, and for some years it was most certainly a guiding and influential force for that segment of the hobby. I only wish the magazine could have found its way into the White River Publications fold at some point years ago. I have a feeling that group would have worked to give it the shot in the arm that is currently much needed. I wish Marc the very best going forward.
