Mark

You need to check the following two threads. There may be some recurring issues with power adapters being sold for use with your Company's Model Building Products. Once you read through these two, you will quickly see what we are finding out here as customers. Please take some time to read through these.

I sent an email Saturday to Guest@menards-inc.com, about what I was finding in my research.

maybe email him directly instead of expecting him to see it here?....as matt said,"he deserves a day off too."

Jim

I emailed the Guest@menards-inc.com email address directly on Saturday. I fully appreciate that Mark should have the day off. However, I noticed he has been posting and responding on some of the threads today. So, as a follow-up. I  bumped this thread up as an FYI.

I know Mark will see this stuff. I am very patient. Likewise, I am hoping other Model Railroad enthusiasts, will take note of this and take appropriate precautions so they don't unintentionally damage their buildings or layout.

Mark has demonstrated over many months of participation here and responding directly to problems encountered by members with Menard's products that he doesn't need a "You need to read these two threads" to get his attention.

Frankly, he's provided the necessary information for members requiring assistance and offered to personally become involved if necessary.  Any response here would be superfluous.

You're beating a dead horse and I regret posting this because it will go to the top of the "recent posts" as a result.

If you had simply posted his earlier reply on the other thread would have been sufficient for assisting members with problems.

Jim,

Thanks for keeping me in the loop!

In all honesty, I haven't encountered any problems with the power supply in the past but I can assure you that we are taking this feedback very seriously.

We have some testing to do to try and replicate the results that have been mentioned in other forum threads.

That's a very unfair reply to Greenrail's efforts. He has been very complimentary of Menards' products and customer service in both threads. He merely sees an urgency so that other buildings aren't damaged as his were.

Also, I thought his decision to start a new thread made sense, given that the subject lines of the other threads didn't address the power adapter problem. This post brought the central issue to the top of a thread.

Agree with Jim.  Greenrail is doing us all a big service.  He correctly understood that Mark would only be receptive as his post indicates that he is.  I want to continue to buy those buildings, but, not if the adapters are going to wreck the electronics over time.  I've read the alternatives for power in these posts and understand there are other ways to go, but we all want Menards to be as successful as they have been.

You gotta love Mark and Menards and what they are doing for this hobby....

Greentrains' thread ASSUMES that Mark (or his train people) hadn't already read the threads he links--as fast as Mark is to reply to problems with Menard's products reported here that assumption is not warranted.

Also, his thread never mentions the possible problem with the power supplies--so how does that help purchasers of these products?  If end-users/retail buyers are the concern, start a thread telling them "Don't plug in your Menard's building with Menard's power supplies/adapters."

I'm not impugning his motives--but, to imply that Mark (and his train people) are ignoring a serious problem, (and require an all caps thread that is the equivalent of screaming on the net) simply is not justified.

In any case, I hope the issue is resolved to the satisfaction of those who purchased these items.

Sir:

With all due respect, I never assumed Mark had not read, nor did I assume he had read. I posted these threads, and admittedly bumped then, knowing full well that this is a Holiday weekend. Sometimes, Threads in the Forums get buried rather quickly.

Now regarding your second point, I posted this information up to bring it to light. Admittedly, perhaps, I could have created another thread, Which In reality I did wherein I sought Mark's attention, pointing out the two Threads, wherein the same type of problems were starting to crop up.

And regarding your third point. I in no way implied that Mark, or anyone was ignoring the problems mentioned. Perhaps you should go back and reread what I specifically said. Also, I used UPPERCASE Letters to draw attention, on purpose. Not as a screaming method as you imply.

1. I pointed out a possible problem.

2. I did some research and follow-up on what the problem may be (i.e. adapter voltage)

3. I found a possible solution (i.e. an adapter from another source).

4. I shared said information on this forum.

5. I Remained complimentary of Menards and Mark in particular, and hoped for continued success with their products.

So, I am admittedly, being a bit long winded on this particular post. However, get your facts straight. I have been nothing if not above board and straight forward, without impugning anyone or any company.

Sorry, I strongly disagree with your somewhat disingenuous statements.

Oh, by the way, it's "Greenrail" - not "Greentrains!"

I have nothing further to add to this ongoing discussion at this point in time, until, we have heard something from Mark, when He has available time to research further from his end.
