MARS light not working on Legacy FM Trainmaster

This is not a Pennsy FM .  

laz1957 - Yeah, Grampstrains is correct.  FYI, the MARS light (and several other things about this engine) were discussed at length under a previous Post (I think it was entitled 'new Lionel FM' or something like that) and I believe the 3rd page of that Post is where the MARS light was discussed.  Consequently you may want to look it up via a Search on this Forum.

This is the FM Trainmaster I have it does have a MARS light.  Just can’t turn it on.

Thanks RICKO . Yes I have done everything that can be done with the Aux 2 lighting feature.  Might have to open it up and check the wiring.

Just for grins, did you try the strobe light buttons on the Aux 2 lighting menu?

MARTY, yes as stated in my opening of the thread.  Pressed the Aux2 button until advanced lighting came up and tried all the lighting buttons.   Mars light never came on.

Did you try the emergency stop while it was moving forward?

No, Emergency stop has been around for a long time.  While you're moving, press the Triangle key on the keypad of the Legacy CAB2, that initiates the Emergency Stop sequence.  This is the time when the MARS light comes on.

  Just got done trying out the emergency stop.  Train went through dialog but the train never stopped.  No Mars light came on.  Is this defective?

The train won't stop on its own. You have to slow it to a stop. Once stopped there will be a dialog about being stopped.

If the engine is equipped and you have exhausted all the above I would say the Mars light functionality is defective.
