Marx train and transformer

Engine lights up and tries to run, but have not gotten it to move more than a few inches. All cars are in good shape, just a little dirty. Transformer appears to work fine, and the cord is in good shape. I know little about Marx Trains, but don't want sitting in a box forever. Really do not know what to ask, make an offer plus shipping.
