Hope this is okay to share here, but Menards is running a deep discount on a few of the Flat Cars with Loads...$8 a piece for each of these three

The details on the lumber loaded 'vintage' flat bed truck on a flat car says "die-cast metal wheels", but I believe I recall reading about 'plastic trucks' on Menards flat cars...does anyone know if the truck sides are plastic?

I'll be finding out for myself soon enough because I couldn't resist a couple at that price.  They seem bash-able or you could build a good sized Menards themed lumber consist for not a lot of money.  Menards shipping prices are always surprisingly low for 'economy' class as well.

That's definitely more than they charged me on my order, and I'm in Texas...seemingly no where near a Menards...my local store according to the site is Wichita, Ks.

I'm pretty sure Menards has charged me the same flat $2.80 "processing fee" whether it was my order for the Camaraderie Tavern, the Door Factory, or this one for two flat cars.

On this one, a single car would cost $4.46 to ship economy, but two only cost $4.96 with the same flat processing fee either way.  So instead of one for ~$15, I got two @ ~$11.50/ea.  Your mileage may vary as they say

Thanks jay jay and Southwest Hiawatha for the confirmation on the plastic trucks.

c.demille, you're right.  I was poking around on Menards site again and played with the cart feature after you mentioned the handling/processing fee.  I put 3 different flat cars in my cart and bingo $7.  Two different one was $5.60, but 2 of the same kind were $2.80, which is what I ordered.  Weird they would break it down that way

I tried ordering these, three beauties, on line, giving all of my info., but to no avail.

The order did not take electronically, so I E.-Mailed Menard's Customer Service and I was informed that the order did NOT go through and that I can not order via telephone.

Hopefully, nothing will go wrong, with my info., as the problem, a lot of Target electronic card customers are having from an 'INSIDE JOB!!!!'

Right!,

That's the way I ordered my last building. What a surprise that was. I was assuming the web price of $89, then the clerk advised that the FEDEX would be around $30  to NY. Well, the FedEx was $16 and the store price was $59, go figure.
