Menards Trains What was Their First Releases?

That's a great question- I'd like to see a 'History of Menards Model Railroading' website- if that's possible?

Even if it may not seem like it at the time, it's important and valuable to remember your history.

Or are you asking about the history of the "Made by Menards cars" only?

Anyway, here's his response from the other thread:

Our first train cars (not counting sets) were made by Lionel and sold exclusively at our stores.

2007 - Paul Menard #11 Pittsburgh Paints Racecar on "Menards" flatcar
2008 - Paul Menard #15 Johns Manville Racecar on "Menards" flatcar
2009 - Paul Menard #98 Johns Manville Race Hauler on "Lionel" flatcar

Following these train cars, we started making our own and the selection expanded exponentially from there.

I have the 5106 Menards car pictured above. That was my first Menards car, and if I recall correctly it was the first year Menards made their own cars. I believe that was in 2010 (?), the same year Lionel made the Menards exclusive Soo Line set, which I also have.

Bob, I envy you! I'm a sucker for TOFCs. Any time Menards wants to reissue those I'm in big time! Great graphics too! I wasn't into trains until 2012 when my Dear wife gave me the MTH Christmas steam engine for my birthday! A decision she may have come to regret! LOL
