Good morning. I am starting the thread from my telephone this week, and am not as comfortable using it as I am the desktop computer.

This week, I bring you some photos of the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern RR. Their yard closest to me is in Pittston, PA. It was formerly Lehigh Valley. A friend of mine who works on the railroad led us on a short tour.

This is a much larger and busier yard than I expected it to be. On our hike, we found this string of barely used Reading & Northern boxcars.

Near time to leave, this freight was being prepared for the run to Lehighton over night where the train will interchange with Norfolk Southern.

That is my start for this week. We welcome all of your contributions. Thanks for watching.

Here's a video with even more catches from the day.

Also Tim, I saw on Trains a story about the end of 6-axle Alcos somewhere in the East this summer (it was behind Trains' paywall). Was the road in question the DLW, or was it the Western New York & PA?

I do a lot of work with the Michigan Transit Museum and they are currently repainting their Conrail Caboose.   They had it parked out of the yard this week and a crew has been busy painting it the last few days.  I can't wait to see it done and on the train this summer.

They also have their Soutshore #11 car out of the yard, as they do not have any switches to move the positions of the car.  I took the rare opportunity to photograph it without it being attached to a train.

Their yard was locked so I was not able to get in but here is a few shots of their Chicago EL car.  As you can see it needs a lot of TLC.

There is no set schedule for the "Housatonic RR/The berkshire Line, that services the local Sand/gravel pit, with hoppers, and the Oak Ridge recycling & trash center in Danbury, CT.  Been waiting to catch one of their locomotives for some time.  Was on my way to lowe's yesterday, and there it was.  I had to cross over to the other side of the road at lunch time, and traffic was heavy, Luckily I had my phone on, but I had to rush.  Was taking a few cars filled with recycled material to their yard in Hawleyville, CT, for further disposition. I have no idea where that stuff goes.  But I will be researching to find out. Loco is a GP35M-2

I had not heard  of this until now, so thank you for asking.  It turns out to be the Western New York and PA Railroad.  I don't know how busy their route is, but six AC46CW units from CSX will replace their Alcos.
