Happy Independence Day to my fellow Americans, and a wonderful day to my other friends!
I am posting this photo of a Wabash SW8, disguised as Lackawanna 500. She currently sits alongside the Ofgice and Storage building at Steamtown in Scranton, PA.
Today I am flying out to work security at a fire in Rapid City, SD. I am not sure how close this is to Kent, who posts under the name Two23. Since I might be working unusual hours, I may not be able to post photos on this thread next week.
Enjoy your holiday, and please share your railroading adventures with us here.

My wife and I just returned from our first trip on the California Zephyr, starting from Denver to Emeryville and return.  It was sad to see the smoke all over the Colorado mountains from Pueblo north on our way to Denver, but were glad to see the sky much more clear on our return.  Then I read that our train was the last eastbound as a fire between Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction has closed the line.

The Emeryville station was busy

A delightful surprise attached to our train.  How appropriate and more interesting in the fact that these fellows were just in Arizona before we left home for their trip to the Grand Canyon and passed by my house there.

And the scenery was all that I had hoped for.
