Mini Commander II - Harness is Wrongly Pinned (Notice for those who got one)

I was installing the Mini Commander II I got earlier this week and saw the harness that came with the engine was not correct.  The Hot Wire (Red) that is supposed to be in Pin 10 was in Pin 8 and the Engine Lead that was supposed to be in Lead 8 was in Pin 10 position.  So if you got one, make sure the harness is correct so you don't damage the board (if you follow the color and not the pins).

Scott, where do I find where/how to run the serial signal to the Railsounds Commander?  I assumed it was Pin 7 (Violet) which is actually Orange in the harness I got per the Electric RR instructions, but I am getting only Engine Revs.  You mentioned in your email the Common and Serial were reversed, so I was wondering what that meant.

Here's an old diagram that's still valid.  The 10-pin connector is always wired this way, and serial data comes from the feature connector and it's ground referenced.  I don't look at the colors as I can't really trust them, that actually applies to a lot of Lionel stuff as well.

The two 2-pin connectors have different functions based on the firmware installed on the MC-II.

Has anyone tried to drive a coreless motor with a Mini Commander II ?   Since they pull much less current for a given power output and produce about 50% more power per size than an iron core motor this would open up a lot of possibilities for repowering.   Coreless motors like the PWM frequency to be above 20khz and some of the err driver boards deliver just that.     j
