MY MTH ALCO S-2 Switcher 20-20591-1 number board lights have quit working either when running DCS or conventional.  I have checked wire from the plug on the board to the 2 pin molex which is ok (has continuity), the leds light when plugged into the headlight molex plug.

Is there a command to turn them on or should i assume there is a board problem?

I also have a MTH SD70ACE MTH 30-20361-1 that with conventional the number board light with DCS they stay off with have me wondering what is wrong.....

Anybody have any ideas?

In my experiences sometimes MTH lighting controls can be all over the map.  You'd think that the LMK (Light-marker lights) control would control Number boards but I've often they're tied to the Interior cab light control.  I've also had loco's where the number board lights were tied to the headlight control switch.  Good luck with the troubleshoot.

I am talking about how it connects to the wiring harness.  Many PS-2 had the bulb plug on to a spring loaded holder on body post.  That connected to a wire pad on the chassis when shell was attached.  They can make intermittent contact.  But if you LEDs plug into a 2 pin molex connecter and you are positive you have continuity from the 40 pin connector to the molex connecter (can have bad solder joint under the heatshrink or a pinched wire).  Then it is either turned off via the board and LNB toggles them on and off, or you do have a bad board circuit.

The ALCO S-2 ithe s the one that does not light either conventional or DCS i have hecked wire from PCB plug to the molex and it shows continuity,  i plugged the number board LED's into the head lamp and they both lit up,  I am going to try the LNB with the remote later for that one and see if it works if not it may be the PCB.

The Sd 70 lights when on conventional so pretty sure the LNBwas toggled off.
