I am not sure about the B&M but I don't think CNJ never had a car like this, definitely not on the Blue Comet.

I don’t believe they did but I’m not really concerned about what’s prototypical in this instance. They look great on my passenger trains. I mentioned those because MTH made them about 15 years ago and I haven’t been able to find them

The PRR built 550 R50b express cars and was prototypically the only road that had them.  However, they could be found anywhere on almost any train.  The joke was the R50b saw every mile of track in the US outside of the wash track.  In the 60's they lost their ice bunkers and were used just like any other baggage car.

I don't have any issue with fantasy schemes and a lot of the ones MTH have done are very nice looking.  I just wanted to provide a little insight on the history of these cars.  The Santa Fe one with the plating is pretty sharp, while the B&O one is somewhat in the ballpark of their homebuilt C-15 baggage car.

Great info, thank you for sharing

I am sure other dealers will be doing custom runs of these - MTH asked me to just do two because they were going to do another run of these say 18 months out..... I will ask Andy and see if he will share what other custom runs are being done and by whom. Yes, the NKP's were a custom run by Stockyard Express. I have had my two in process back in march and they are just now getting announced, so I bet these are pretty far along. Stockyard did the plated Santa Fe's before, too. I have a couple of them.  I agree - the Pennsylvania's are always welcome!
