I know this topic is old but I thought it would be interesting to share the story about how I got this fixed. So after I had a panic attack here on this thread I visited my local dealer and got some tips. I was directed to call up mth service and send it in. I went ahead and did so, learning that a ill - fated proto 2 battery caused the motherboard in the tender to blow.

The 5V boards don't need an excuse to croak, they do it spontaneously.
