I have been using my TIU since 2013. I never had any problem with it and using the DCS Remote Control. The other week I was running a lot of TOFC's. I noticed one of the trailer flats had shorted out on the track, but didn't know it at that time. I smelled something hot. The wires coming from the track to the TIU where worm and soft. I shut the power of right away. The TIU did smell hot. I did not burn out any of the four fuses inside of the TIU. I went and bought another TIU. I don't know if the old TIU is worth getting fixed if something is burnt inside. I like to run a Lash-up on long trains. Using my MTH Remote I entered my two units that is in my Active list, like I have done many of times. Once I had my Lash-up on the active engine list as a single engine, and (L) appeared on the LCD to indicate when the lash-up is in operation. I entered the lash-up on the LCD. I pressed the thumbwheel to select the lash-up. I pressed the start-up button, nothing happened. I can go back and run both engines separately just fine. I did delete all the old lash-ups and started over again. I wonder if there is something wrong with my remote? Has anyone ever had this problem?
Thanks, Ernie
