Engineer Joe,

I have one of the six car sets.  I model both modern military trains and WWII military trains.  They look cool.  The tanks are metal.  They look good on the TTUX flats.  What prompted me to buy a set in the 2007/2008 time frame was when I saw the actual Abrams tanks in Dagget, CA at the Marine Corp Depot on the way to Vegas.  They were on TTUX cars.  They looked cool in real life and look cool on the layout.  Only a rivet counter would worry about the size of the tanks.  They are very close to scale and you won't be disappointed.  If you have a chance to buy a six car set grab it.  I have both the desert  and green camouflage tanks.

P.S: I like the Geller Military Loads also.  But they are pricey.  They are very detailed.  My son bought me a couple for xmas a couple of years ago.

Hello !

Im looking to buy mth 20-98580 Abrams tanks on flat cars o gauge .... does anyone know where I could buy some or anyone willing to sell ? Name a price !

I have started projects and then forgot about them many times. This is one I remembered, but still left on the back burner.

I ordered 4 of the Atlas 68' TM flat cars for the DOD. I thought there were 4 road numbers. There were only two so I got 2 sets of duplicates. I remember wanting to put 2 Abrams M1 tanks on each and never moved forward. I bought 3 Sword Abrams M1s so far, various pieces of chain and other stuff and have it all laying around here. I also bought 2 complete MTH versions but that's another story. It is cool that they come with chain devices for their loads. Their prices are getting out of hand so maybe the next release will help?

So I remember thinking I would need 6 axle trucks for these cars and I only ordered one set of PSC #9061 to see what they looked like. They are still sealed and I never even looked closely at them. I'm hoping they will at least appear to be heavy duty versions that might be acceptable on these cars? Probably the wrong era but they're something anyways. I would prefer actual ball bearings inside for proper rolling in longer trains.

Has anyone assembled these PSC #9061 trucks? Easy?

What are they supposed to be used for? Think I can get them to work with these Atlas cars?

Are there better options with real bearings out there?

I believe these cars have the older Atlas couplers instead of the newest ones?
