Several years back I purchased a pair of these listed at 042 minimum curve.  I learned then 042 isn't 042 for all track brands and they were relegated to shelf queens.  A recent expansion has afforded me the opportunity to go with 054 curves.  Now I find these cars clip the DZ1000 switch machines if the machine is located on the inside of the curve.  This is on a Ross curved swiitch, 054 inside, 072 outside.  Of course relocating the machine to the outside is the obvious solution but not possible in all locations.  Can the trucks on these be easily removed so a washer can be added to raise the height of the body the small amount required to clear the switch machine?  Sure would love to have these making the rounds on the layout.

I'd certainly want to simply solve the issue with the trackwork and not hack up the cars.  Many cars already ride unrealistically high on the trucks, no need to make it worse.

Shaving the ties will be one way, and if you have roadbed under the track, you can recess the DZ-1000 into the roadbed.

The thing to be careful of is how the spring works with the switch machine dropped, that could cause issues with the switch operation.

Extending the actuating arm doesn't require you to change the relationship of the spring and the switch machine.
