Hello,

I rececently purchased a MTH NJT ALP46 (20-5635-1). The issue is that the pantographs are not coming down when I switch directions. It appears that the belts are working when I took the shell off and looked at it. But I am not sure why the pantographs are not lowering, If anyone knows what the issue could be please let me know, It would be great to not have to send this engine back

Are the belts slipping?  Coming down requires more tension pulling against the spring.  So you need to watch to see if motor is rotating but the pulley slips on the belt.  If so, change belts.  Go to automotive store or Home depot to get a similarly sized O-ring.

If motor only turns in one direction, PCB can be bad, or a wire is off/open to the PCB.  The panto board is $25 or $30.  G
