Uncataloged Premier O Scale Trommer's Brewery 36' Woodside Reefers AnnouncedApril 6, 2023 - M.T.H. Electric Trains has announced an exclusive and uncataloged Premier Line O Scale 36' Woodside Reefer in two unique Trommer's Brewery liveries. Available in limited quantities, the cars mark another release in a long line of M.T.H. offerings by the NJ Hi-Railers.

Item No. 20-94660 Trommer’s Brewery - White Label 36’ Woodsided Reefer Car ABOUT THE TROMMER'S BREWERY REEFER Trommer's Beer originated in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, NY and was the largest seller of ALL malt beer in the United States. Trommers sponsored and financed German immigrants by having them operate hot dog carts all over New York City as long as they sold Trommers near beer exclusively. In 1933 Trommers went back to their all Malt beer and added a Bock and Ale for sale. In the early 1940's Trommers expanded by opening a new brewery in Orange, NJ. A 1949 delivery strike crippled the New York Beer industry including Trommer's which started their decline because the strike prevented the brewery from maintaining its very unique strain of yeast for brewing. Ultimately, the special yeast strain died forcing Trommers to sell beer with a different yeast which resulted in a beer with a very different taste which was not as popular as the beer brewed before the strike. In 1950, Trommers sold the Orange, NJ plant to Rheingold, and in 1951 the Bushwick plant and Trommer brand name were sold to Piels which continued brewing Trommers White Label until 1962. M.T.H. Electric Trains will be releasing Premier O Scale 3-Truck and 4-Truck Shay steam locomotives in 14 different livery configurations this Fall. Many of the liveries will be complemented with separately sold 6-car Skeleton Log Car sets. Each of these offerings is expected to begin shipping to M.T.H. Authorized Retailers in November 2023.
