Hello everyone. I recently purchased a rail king Chicago&Northwestern train set. The problem I am having with the loco is the sound. The tender plugs into the steam engine and I get a loud buzzing sound. If I try a couple times with plugging it in and out it stops. Could this be a problem with the pins connection being dirty. Is it safe to use a Qtip with some alcohol to clean both sides of the connectors?

I would try resoldering the pin connections on the socket at the back of the loco. Repeated connecting the plug breaks the pin connections at the board. While you have the shell off, look for any pinched or frayed wires.
