I have a RailKing C&O Allegheny 2-6-6-6 I am selling from my personal collection if you are still looking. Engine Road #1601. It does not appear to have been run other than me running it around my test layout to make sure everything functioned. It looks factory new and runs flawlessly. I have a box for it, but it is a BigBoy box, fits Allegheny perfectly. I am having a hard time pricing this engine. Does anyone know the current FMV for this engine?
Thank you! Happy 2021!

If the engine is the Rail king 30-1728-1 I would be interested
Please use my contact info in my profile.
thanks!
MTH's website indicates that the 30-1728-1 RK version of this engine has Proto 3.0 and is numbered #1601 - if that is any help to you. Also, I'm not sure but MTH used to put a little sticker on the bottom of the engine (or tender) indicating what PS version was in the engine.
Yeah, I now see the PS sticker on the underside of the tender in your photos but can't decipher what PS version it is because the lettering is too small.
Thanks PH I am attempting to contact JTTrains without any success. His profile does not contain any addresses.
I am attempting to send a private message also without success there. The list will not keep JTTrains in the address block as I attempt to send the private message.
I now discover that JTTrain does not wish to receive a Private Message via the OGR Forum.
So, I remain interested in the Rail King C&O Allegheny 2-6-6-6 for purchase if anyone wishes to sell their engine.
Thanks,
Seth
In the photos of JD's above you can see the two pin charging port on the tender bottom., indicating that the engine would be a proto 2 / 3 volt board . 🙄
Sorry, I do not understand what a 2/3 volt board is telling me.
The Railking MTH features indicates the 30-1728-1 is a Proto sounds 3.0
Thanks
Sorry Seth.
The MTH engines that have a two pin ( roughly rectangular ) charging port as see in JD's photo of the bottom of the tender are indicative of a Proto sounds 2.0 not a Proto sounds 3.0.
That port on the tender is used when charging with the MTH charger.*................the GOOD NEWS about the two pin charging port is that the boards inside are of the 3 volt variety which is not the troublesome 5 volt system.
PS*. The battery in this engine ,according to the MTH literature , can also be charged by leaving it on a powered track for a specified time. ALSO , many owners of the Proto sounds 2.0 will replace the internal battery with super .capaciters that are mentioned in the forum that eliminate the need for charging.
Well I appreciate the information on the tender information. My purpose in the search for the Rail King is to upgrade from my current Rail King released in 1995. and is a Proto 1. Plus I find that I really like the newer release cab 1601 and the front light with C&O markings. And I wish to have Proto 3.
I am glad that I am discovering now out that the engine he has is not what I thought it was.
Thanks Dallas
