I have a "vintage" 1994 MTH Seaboard GE-C30-7, part number MT2016 which is stuck in reverse.  I am using an MTH Z4000 transformer, and track voltage with handles off shows 0.3 volts on both handles.  (I run conventional only)  I tried  reset 18 and a reset 40, but since the engine wont go into a reset mode, it stays in reverse!  It makes no clicks or clanks.  I have tried the MTH Reset Kit, which I have, but no change as again.......  no clanks or clicks.  I believe the engine needs to be in "reset" mode before it will accept a change from the lock out condition.  I am using a BCR "battery", and have also tried using an MTH green battery which, tests at  8.4 volts.  I have looked for wires that may be frayed or disconnected and have found none.  This has been a great running, good looking engine, and would really like to see it back on my layout working again!  Anyone have any ideas?......thanks in advance!

when you power it down how long due the sounds last ?approximately 7 seconds? you might try a light bulb on the track connector for an added load and then try to run engine again in conventional again using the direction button on the z4000. if I remember correctly you might try reset 40 or 18 with only 10.00 volts applied to track
