How can I extract a Windows archive using Windows 10

W10 doesn't have win zip..and stalls here.

You can use any Windows archive/unarchive program to open the Zip archive.

Also, I suggest that you re-title this topic to something like:

"How can I extract a Windows archive using Windows 10".

It's aWindows issue, not MTH's problem.

Maybe I am making it too simple.  The screen shot you provided say to “press the Unzip button to unzip” yet you seemed to have pressed the “Run WinZip” button.....which you don’t have installed.  Could it be that simple?

you have to use browse feature in  the unzip file and tell it where you want the files to go when your creating a  directory most people downloading file specify mth sound files or dcs 6.1 file  you want created to store what your downloading it in then when its down uploading to tiu look in that file when your using the mth loader program to send the file say tiu_6.1 and the loader will send it to your tiu if you have wired up everything correctly!

Willy,

still no joy..these show up when i unzip to desktop. open and wants to go to app store.

All's well - you don't open those files directly, rather, they're opened by the DCS Loader Program.

Once they're unzipped, just note where they are and launch the DCS Loader Program. When you initiate the update process for either the remote or the TIU, just follow the onscreen directions and, within the DCS Loader Program, navigate to those files to do the upgrade.

The.dcsr file is used to update the remote and the .dcst file is used to update the TIU.

I created a folder named \junk on my C: drive.  I double-clicked on the file DCS6_10.exe that I downloaded.  I then edited the Unzip to folder box to point to my new folder and clicked Unzip, see below.

I browse to C:\JUNK and I find the two files in question.

Now you fire up the DCS Loader and do your updates.

Still looking for an ap..this computer on loan and still looking for a valid w10 key which may be my issue.

Try not to over think it.  If running windows10, you shouldn't need to "look for (or get) an ap" from the Microsoft store. Win10 has unzipping/extraction built in. Just follow John, Barry & other's method to browse/set up a new target directory to avoid the hassles of locating hidden temp directories & files w/i your browser's subdirectory.

You can have a steam train ...If you'd just lay down your tracks.
